My mantra for dressing this winter? TURN A NEGATIVE INTO A POSITIVE. And that inspiration comes from the fact that it is below zero here in Minneapolis. And do I need to mention that there is snow everywhere?
OUTFIT STRATEGY FOR TODAY.
- I want to dress up for work.
- I want to be warm and comfortable.
- I'm in the mood to tackle boots that aren't just meant for snow. Thank you Nine West!
- Since I'm dressing for NOW, and feeling funky, I will take this traditional cardigan sweater and pair it with something the opposite of traditional.
How to add funk to a classic, traditional sweater.
I found this lovely, never worn, tags still on, Evan Picone cardigan at Turnstyle; a Minneapolis consignment shop. I always find awesome things at the Turnstyle chain of consignment stores. You must check it out.
The fur is what drew me in but honestly, I wouldn't normally pick up something so classic and traditional feeling.
Since I was feeling the animal vibe, which I often feel, I figured why not go with my Flashdance inspired "She's a Maniac" leopard sweatshirt in blue, black and grey. Meeooowww.
Continue the punk vibe with a zipper front pencil.
But still nod to the traditional with my floppish hat.

The sweater is tough. It can handle the snow dropping on my back.
