WHY SHOP THRIFT? WEAR AN AFFORDABLE TREND.

YOU CAN AFFORD THE TRENDS WHEN YOU SHOP THRIFT

Oh. It has turned mighty chilly here in Minnesota. So I brave the outdoors with a new purchase.  Oxblood suede jacket.  The deep, beautiful, and quite popular color of the fall season.  I can't believe that this jacket was on sale in a consignment shop here in Minneapolis.  It was even marked down.  Its suede!  The label is Inc.

I paid $10.00.

DIY SCARF. I LOVE PROJECTS.
The oxblood suede jacket is not the only thing I am excited about.
I made this scarf.  It is an infinity, made with both warm wool and bits of super soft t-shirts. A super fun project and costs almost nothing.
Knitting reduces stress!  And picking your own materials for your handmade scarf ensures you will love it and it will be as warm as you need it to be.

OUTFIT CHALLENGE: LAYERING.

I lived in Los Angeles for fifteen years before moving to Minneapolis.

Layering tips that I learned to embrace:

1.  Layering adds depth and interest to an outfit.
I like putting tailored items with t-shirts.   And this black button down from Banana Republic helps me every time.

2.  Layer breathable fabrics.
Cotton t-shirt and cotton button down don't cause me to sweat once I'm warm.

3.  Layering does not mean bulk.
Layering thin items is the way to go.  The jacket is so slim but still easily supports a t-shirt and button down.  No need to wear a big heavy bulky sweater.  But a thin one would work quite nicely here.
I don't know how many times I can or will say this...I LOVE T-SHIRTS.

This one was rescued from a friend's "to go" box.

A picture of Audrey Hepburn and the slogan: FOR THE WIN.

I like to think I've got a little bit of both Katharine and Audrey in me.
