Nicole Miller vintage jacket. |
I travel quite a bit for work and personal life. Strategic packing is always key.
Top 5 Requirements for successful and comfortable travel:
- Carry on luggage. No checking.
- Multi purpose purse/messenger bag.
- Multi purpose clothing that allows me to feel like I have options.
- Enough space to buy a little something new or "new to me."
- Retain unique style. Even at the airport!
The wardrobe staple, to get me through this trip is a tailored jacket.
The jacket is vintage Nicole Miller. I found it at a thrift store in Minneapolis for $6. Six whole dollars.
And when I found it, I nearly shrieked with joy. I kept looking over my shoulder, as I inspected this lovely specimen, expecting an ambitious shopper to snatch it from my hands at any moment.
Nicole Miller detailing and tailoring. It is dressy if needed and ups the style on a casual outfit.
During my holiday trip, it made me full pulled together and comfortable, no matter what I was doing.
And since the temperatures in Dallas and Lafayette are a wee bit warmer than Minneapolis, this tailored jacket acted as my coat.
I gotta be honest. I think that you should look cute at the airport and on the plane. You never know who you might run into and you never know who you might meet. If you are dressing for NOW, you are wearing something that you love and makes you feel your best.
A scarf is also a must have when travelling, no matter what the temperatures and time of year.
I made this scarf. It feels personal and makes me feel unique. This is literally the only scarf of its kind!
Made completely from soft cotton t-shirts, knit together. I found the featured t-shirt in a little thrift store in Los Angeles, near Inglewood, CA. I love the image of the giant semi truck.
